Deadlines
The Journal of Prospective Health Care accepts submissions via email and will review them within two weeks (more information on the review process). Deadlines for consideration for specific issues follow.
- Volume 3, Issue 2: Articles must be submitted by January 15, 2009. This issue will be published at the end of the Spring 2009 semester.
Guidelines
Submissions will be considered if they conform to the following guidelines.
- Submissions must be a Microsoft Word document (.doc).
- Submissions should be ordered as follow: title, abstract, text, references, end notes, tables and figures (including legends).
- They can be no longer than 5000 words (including only the main text), which is approximately 18 double-spaced pages in Microsoft Word or 6 pages laid out for the Journal.
- Submissions must include an abstract no longer than 250 words. It should be written for readers not necessarily familiar with the discipline of the submission. It should include basic background information, a summary of the submission, and a description of how the submission contributes to the dialog on prospective health care.
- The JPHC uses the AMA style for references. In the text, references should be cited with superscript numbers. Direct quotes should have the page number for the source of the quotation superscripted in parenthesis after the superscript citation number. References should be numbered in the order they appear in the text, and full citations should be included in a references section at the end of the text. Examples are available.
- We encourage authors to use EndNote to manage their references as this will make everyone's lives much easier.
