What is Prospective Health Care?Prospective health care (PHC) is an emerging field of medicine that emphasizes disease prediction and prevention, personalization of treatment, and patient responsibility. PHC aims to address the need of medical cost reduction and the improvement of patient care in our current health care system, especially with chronic conditions. Journal of Prospective Health Care, Volume 3, Issue 1We have just released the third issue of the Journal of Prospective Health Care! Who Are We?We are a group of Duke undergraduates who are passionate about prospective health care. We come from diverse backgrounds and have varied interests – many of us are on the pre-health path, some of us approach medicine from a scientific viewpoint, and some of us approach medicine from a public policy or an economic perspective. We believe optimal health and health care cannot be achieved with the traditional philosophy of acute care and reactive treatment of symptoms. We believe that a radical change in the field of medicine is necessary. OrganizationThe Prospective Health Care Club strives to raise awareness, promote discussions, and encourage collaborations among students, professors, and professionals from all fields to further the development of prospective health care. To do this, we have a number of ongoing initiatives:
